Overview
Products reach the end of their Product Life Cycle for a number of reasons. These reasons may be due to market demands, technology innovation and development driving changes in the product or the products simply mature over time and are replaced by functionally richer technology. While this is an established part of the overall product life cycle, Adtec Digital recognizes that end-of-life policies often prompt companies to review the way in which such policies impact the Adtec products in their headends and video systems. With that in mind, we have set out below Adtec’s end-of-life policy to help customers better manage their end-of-life transition and to understand the role that Adtec can play in helping to migrate to alternative Adtec platforms and technology.
The general policy guidelines are:
- As a general rule, Adtec will provide 60 day notice of the affected product's end-of-life date. This notice will appear on our web site, Adtecinc.com. We encourage you to visit this site regularly as it contains useful information regarding Adtec’s end-of-life program.
- Access to Adtec’s Customer Service Center (CSC) will be available M-F 5 days a week for a period of 5 years from the end-of-life date for hardware and operating system software issues and for a period of 1 year from the end-of-life date for application software issues and firmware upgrades.
- Access to Adtec’s Product Repair Center (PRC) will be available M-F 5 days a week for a period of 3 years from the end-of-life date for hardware repair.*
- Training on products and product applications will be available for a period of 3 years from the end-of-life date for hardware and operating system software and for a period of 3 years from the end-of-life date for application software issues and firmware upgrades.
- Purchases made after the products End-of-Life date are subject to the End-of-Life Policy. Products may have or will be purchased past end of life dates for various reasons including but not limited to: “B” stock or buy back situations.
*Adtec will make our best effort to have replacement parts available, however replacement part availability is not guaranteed.
