NASHVILLE, TN – Adtec Digital will showcase their commander's access channel and video on-demand solutions at the Government Video Technology Expo, Dec. 3 and 4, at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center. "The commander's access channel developed by Adtec and technology partner MagicBox offers a solution for combining bulletin boards and moving video on the same channel," Adtec VP of Sales and Marketing, Ron Johnson, said. The commander's access channel combines an MPEG 2 encoder with Adtec's Soloist-2S MPEG 2 playback system and MagicBox's Aavelin RT digital signage and video messaging system to allow users to create text with graphics and schedule and play videos from one software program. Content can be updated within minutes at little or no cost. "The pairing of these two products is an efficient way for the commander to keep the base informed at all times," MagicBox President, Tom Searcy, said. Adtec's video on demand solution, presented with technology partner Callisto Media Sytsems, enables users to turn their IP network into a virtual video library. Ingested by Adtec's edje-2000 or 2100 MPEG encoders, content is managed across the network via Callisto's Voyager video server and played back on an Adtec decoder, such as the edje-1013 MPEG appliance. The edje-2000 is a streaming encoder that converts analog video and audio into an MPEG 2 transport or program stream for IP distribution. The edje-2100 is a DTV encoder supporting DVB-ASI and ATSC as well as IP distribution systems and supports Dolby AC-3 audio.
