NASHVILLE, TN – Adtec Digital's edje MPEG video player recently delivered content to the award-winning FogScreen for the first time on the east coast at IAAPA Orlando 2003. "The partnership was definitely a success," Adtec VP of Sales and Marketing, Ron Johnson, said. "It was the perfect combination of the world's most innovative video technology, driving the world's most unique video display." The FogScreen, developed in Finland, is a suspensible device that creates a thin, smooth fog surface, enabling high-quality projections and walk-thru simultaneously. "The FogScreen has been honored with the InnoSuomi prize for the best innovation in Finland and the South Ostrobothnia innovation prize," Mika Herpio of FogScreen said. "The FogScreen provides Adtec with a unique way to display how their content delivery products work." Adtec debuted the edje-1014 remote control MPEG decoder at IAAPA. "The edje-1014 combines the convenience of front-panel push-button control and IR (infrared remote) control with the reliability and advanced feature set Adtec customers value in the edje-1013," Johnson said. Adtec also displayed the edje-2000 streaming encoder as well as the edje decoder models 1010, 1013 and 1015 and the Soloist 2. "The edje MPEG digital video player and network appliance is an intelligent alternative to DVD players and video servers," Johnson said. "It offers reliable management and playback of MPEG 2 video files and has an advanced feature set that includes synchronous playback and external device control." The edje-2000 streaming encoder is an affordable, real time MPEG 2 encoding and distribution solution for fixed or mobile IP networks. Both products are housed in a miniature chassis and operate on 12VDC power. Applications for both Adtec Digital and FogScreen products include museums, themed attractions, stage shows, cruise ships, nightclubs and interactive multimedia presentations. "We are discussing future business possibilities with FogScreen," Johnson said. "It was a beneficial experience for Adtec to have the chance to work with them during IAAPA."
