Adtec Introduces New edjeGuide for Ultimate IPTV Control
NASHVILLE, TN - Adtec Digital introduces its new edjeGuide, an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) middleware IPTV server designed to control set top boxes and Adtec decoders, at IBC in Amsterdam, Sept. 8-12.
    IP set-top boxes can request electronic program guide information from edjeGuide to provide the customer with a convenient on-screen guide for program selection.
    Adtec decoders can be controlled from edjeGuide to tune into specific multicast streams or to playback stored video.
    'The edjeGuide allows customers using IP set-top boxes to easily select programming from an interactive, on-screen program guide, categorizing channels,' President, Kevin Ancelin, said. 'It also allows the control of Adtec decoders from a central location, permitting tuning to a specific multicast stream, playing a loaded list of stored video or the stopping of decoding altogether.'
    The edjeGuide provides the utmost in security and control to the user.
    'The edjeGuide maximizes security, permitting different security levels including guest (status only), operator (adds control) and administrator (adds configuration),' Ancelin said. 'In addition, the status of each decoder can be viewed from edjeGuide to provide a quick overview of the system.'
    Applications for the edjeGuide include interactive IPTV, Private Video Networks (PVNs), and enterprise control of Adtec decoders as well as industry-standard IPTV set-top boxes.
