| NASHVILLE, TN - Adtec Digital introduces the mediaHUB – a broadcast quality economical solution for MPEG 2 real time encoding and decoding. It includes confidence decoding, internal storage, automatic FTP file transfer and is useful for ad insertion, Cable Labs video on demand media ingest and long form play back applications with Adtec or other video servers. The mediaHUB encoder functionality features MPEG2 standard definition (SD) video, MPEG 1 Layer 1 and Layer 2 and Dolby Digital (AC3) dual stereo audio encoding. mediaHUB generates industry standard MPEG 2 Transport Streams compliant to CableLabs® ADI specification for VOD and Digital program Insertion (DPI). Broadcasters can frame accurately ingest material from professional VTRs via RS422 and live video feeds using GPI triggers, Ethernet or serial control. Video inputs include, Composite, YC, SDI and DV25 via Firewire. Audio inputs include SDI embedded, Analog AES via 110-Ohm interfaces and PCM via Firewire. For tapless media ingest, mediaHUB provides near frame accurate encoding via FireWire with the Print To Video (PTV) feature in Apple’s Final Cut Pro (FCP), Final Cut Pro Express (FCPE) and frame accurate with FCP Edit To Tape (ETT). mediaHUB’s decoder supports SD and High Definition (HD decode of MPEG 2 and AVC (MPEG 4 Part 10) transport streams. The decoder provides audio track select while decoding providing a means to monitor many audio tracks of similar or differing audio CODECs. File transfer capabilities include local hard drive storage; network attached storage (NAS), Samba (Windows), Server and Client File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and live streaming via optional ASI or included GIGE interface. Once encoded and confidence monitored, files are ready for dispatch to other servers within the enterprise, a simple click of the transfer button and files are dispatched to as many pre-configured destination servers as desired. Control of mediaHUB is facilitated through its front panel keypad or remotely via the cross platform (Windows, MAC, and Linux) mediaManage GUI. mediaHUB is priced less than many comparable quality PCI encode only components.
