Adtec's Johnson on future of Private Video Networks at InfoComm 04

NASHVILLE, TN –     Adtec Digital's Vice President of Sales and Marketing explored the future of Private Video Networks at InfoComm 2004.
InfoComm's Streaming Media Pavilion hosted Ron Johnson in an interactive presentation of PVN's for training, education, communication, marketing, security and entertainment applications.
"Today's competitive markets require unique solutions for targeted delivery and management of programming," Johnson said. "PVN's, a group of receiving or playback capable devices that can receive content from one or more points, are emerging in response to that need."
Topics discussed included distribution of content via a TCP/IP network, video encoding and decoding, narrowcasting, digital signage, digital bit stream splicing, store forward video technology, and verification of program delivery and playback.
"As bandwidth, distribution technology and playback equipment improves and becomes more cost-effective, the use of PVN's will increase," Johnson said.
Randy Palubiak, President of Enliten Management Group, spoke in alongside Johnson about the use of PVN's through satellite-based business television and distance learning networks.
"Companies, organizations and associations continue to use the satellite delivery of information and programming on a full-time as well as ad-hoc basis," Palubiak said. "In addition, today's IP technologies are capable of facilitating the delivery of rich media content to virtually anywhere at any time, efficiently and cost effectively."
