NASHVILLE, TN – Adtec Digital's edje-1013 players are allowing Phoenix visitors to "Explore Your Mind" at the Arizona Science Center. Edje-1013's were recently installed in a permanent exhibit, "What is Addiction?" studying the physical changes in the brain when an addiction is present and the new technology making these changes visible. "From addiction to speech patterns, this exhibit area explores many of the mysteries of the human mind," Science Center VP of Exhibits and Programs, Deborah Gilpin, said. The edje-1013 is a hard drive based digital video player and network appliance, designed for integration into global multimedia networks. "Visitors can choose, via push-button control, from a selection of nine videos in the exhibit concerning addiction," Science Center Exhibits Director, Mike McEwin, said. "The push-button control sends a signal to the edje-1013 and the chosen educational clip plays for the visitor." The edje-1013 facilitates dynamic MPEG and Bitmap audiovisual presentations without the use of a personal computer. "Adtec's edje-1013 is ideal for interactive displays and facilitates store and playback of content," Adtec Western Account Manager, Bob Derryberry, said. "It's a perfect solution for the Arizona Science Center because it's compact, and best of all, low-maintenance." "The exhibit is popular and a success," McEwin said.
