CNN Will Broadcast in Booth Using edje-L |
NASHVILLE, TN – Adtec Digital, a world-leading manufacturer of professional MPEG-2 based solutions including decoders, encoders, multiplexers, single channel commercial insertion controllers and digital cable headends, has several new products on display at InfoComm03, including demonstrations with CNN. Adtec's latest products include the edje-L digital video player with built-in QPSK satellite data receiver, the edje-2000 real time encoder, the edje-2100 DTV encoder and the edje-3000 multiplexer. The edje-L digital video player and network appliance supports MPEG-2 video and audio, receiving schedules and commands via satellite that can be directly utilized or stored on the local hard drive. Adtec and CNN representatives will demonstrate how the CNN On The Go custom private network can be streamed to an Adtec edje digital video player via IP Multicast or private terrestrial network. "Using this technology, a business could receive a customized version of CNN that shows their content in place of CNN ad breaks in order to help promote its products," says Ron Johnson, Adtec's vice president of marketing. "What's more, the bank's logo could constantly appear in the corner of the screen, while CD and Money Market Rates scroll across the bottom. " "From a marketing perspective," Johnson adds, "this is a huge development. Customized versions of CNN could be deployed in waiting areas of banks, colleges and universities, car dealerships and other retail areas throughout the country." The edje-2000 is a contribution quality encoder capable of converting analog video and audio into an MPEG-2 transport or program stream. At a price far below that of similar products, the edje-2000 supports both DVB-ASI and IP platforms, satisfying the encoding needs for contribution and distribution, as well as the IT space where IP based distribution is critical. The edje-2100 is a DTV encoder ideal for satellite, cable, terrestrial and IP distribution systems. It supports high quality MPEG-2 video and Dolby AC-3 audio. The edje-3000 is transport stream multiplexer designed specifically for DTV systems. Including ten DVB-ASI inputs, the multiplexer is ideal for aggregating MPEG-2 transport streams for satellite, cable and terrestrial broadcasting, as well as MPE IP data encapsulation. CNN On The Go is a custom private network featuring live CNN news and information integrated with client content common to all sites, groups of sites or customized for specific sites.
