Adtec Equipment Allows Training for Medical Professionals at Cardiac Care Conference

NASHVILLE, TN - Adtec Digital’s digital video equipment recently allowed training for more than 200 medical professionals including physicians, surgeons and cardiologists at the Fourth Annual Peripheral and Cardio Care Conference in February.

Adtec’s edje-2100 Real Time distribution encoder and edje-1010 digital video player provided a video-conferencing solution at the conference hosted by Alexian Brothers Hospital Network.

“We used the Adtec equipment to pipe-in live surgery feed from the operating room to a banquet room across town where attendees were able to view live feeds,” Alexian Public Relations Director, Matt Wakely, said.  “Attendees were able to ask surgeons questions while simultaneously viewing the live surgery.”

Adtec’s edje-2100 encodes quickly, outputting high-quality video through the edje-1010, allowing the medical professionals in attendance to witness live cases and key lectures.

“The interactivity and fluidity provided to us by the Adtec equipment enhanced the conference tremendously,” Wakely said.  “We’re able to communicate with medical professionals like never before and plan to implement more live cases as a result.”

Adtec’s equipment not only met Alexian’s objectives for live streaming, but also increase attendance numbers at the conference.  “The Adtec solution allowed us to attract a record number of speakers and attendees to the conference,” Wakely said.

“In the past, we tried other methods of video streaming and more expensive solutions, yet still yielding poor results and poor quality,” Wakely said.  “When dealing with detailed work, a higher quality resolution is needed and Adtec’s equipment met our learning objectives.”

Alexian also had a need for equipment that could be operated effortlessly and comfortably.

“Adtec provided outstanding service upon installation and throughout completion of the event,” Alexian Digital Imaging Engineer, David Divito , said.  “In addition, the products have a simple interface that is easy to understand and the stability of the video stream was outstanding.”

“We contemplated re-thinking the conference because we couldn’t find equipment to meet our goal.  The only other way our goal could be achieved was if we brought 200 physicians into the ER, which is impossible,” Wakely said.  “We spent one whole year researching equipment to meet our goals and we found Adtec was the perfect solution.”
