| NASHVILLE, TN - Adtec Digital introduces its third generation, new iptvManage application, Middleware Application Server (MAS), and edjeguide IPTV set top, java-based middleware client, at NAB in Las Vegas, NV, April 16-19.
"Adtec's new advances in technology will cause a paradigm shift in the middleware business," President, Kevin Ancelin, said. "Our new products will enable IPTV capability for all operators, with innovative and comprehensive features, low price, and rock-solid operation for which Adtec is known." Adtec's middleware solution consists of three parts: a) the Middleware Application Server (MAS); b) iptvManage, the management application; and c) the decoder clients, edjeGuide for IPTV setops, and edjePlayer for computers. Applications for Adtec's MAS include residential, telco, and broadband IPTV, requiring interactive and intuitive user interfaces on set tops boxes. In addition, applications include PC clients, Private Video Networks (PVNs), corporate, educational, medical, hospitality, and enterprise applications. "Adtec's iptvManage provides an extensive list of features and is ideally suited for both residential and enterprise applications," Ancelin said. "It provides a comprehensive program guide interface, utilizing Tribune Media's listing service, as well as its channel, package and ADI-driven, rules-based VOD content management. In addition, it provides encryption, billing, EAS, and caller ID interfaces." The edjeGuide resides on the set top box and is designed to administer and provide a user-friendly navigation interface within the set top browser. "edjePlayer, supporting Windows, Mac OSX and Linux computers, provides a client navigation and decoder similar to edjeGuide on the set top," Ancelin said. "Adtec supplies award-winning professional decoders for contribution and distribution applications that require features typically not provided by residential set top boxes." To this, Adtec's IPTV solution includes encryption and decryption support. "The DTA-3x series of Digital Turn Around Routers, MAS and Verimatrix's CVAS, an AES encryption subscription management server, provide a scalable, reliable and economical IPTV end-to-end solution, unmatched within the digital television industry." Adtec's edjeVOD enterprise VOD server, an optional software-only service installed on the MAS, is an ideal starter, or small-scale, VOD tool for implementations including medical, educational, corporate or hospitality. The edjeVOD interfaces to external VOD servers to facilitate large stream-count VOD requirements, including large scale residential Telco TV.
