Adtec Features DTV, IPTV, Commercial Insertion Solutions at VidTrans & Advanced Motion Imaging Conference by VSF & SMPTE

NASHVILLE, TN –     Adtec Digital features innovative digital television, IP television and commercial insertion solutions at the VidTrans and Advanced Motion Imaging Joint Conference, sponsored by the VSF and SMPTE, Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 in Atlanta, GA.
"Adtec has the experience and ability to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions for customers with a diversity of needs," Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ron Johnson, said. "We offer hands-on opportunities to experience our products at the conference."
Adtec's digital television (DTV) distribution solutions include the edje-2100 Real Time MPEG 2 Encoder, supporting MUSICAM and optionally Dolby Digital (AC-3) audio, and the edje-3000 Transport Stream Media Multiplexer, delivering a DVB/ASI compliant MPTS to a QAM modulator and set-top, utilizing Irdeto Access's CA system.
For IP television applications, the multiplex can be routed by the DTA-3050 Digital Turn Around Media Router over Gigabit Ethernet for delivery of programs and interactive services to an IP set-top. The DTA-3250 Digital Turn Around Media Router adds integrated DVB-S and ATSC tuners. The DTA-3050 and DTA-3250 offer optional support for SMPTE 310M.
"The DTA Digital Turn Around Media Routers can interface to middleware management solutions and is an integral part for any IP headend deployment for direct-to-home (DTH), or enterprise IP markets," Sales Manager, Scott Pierce, said. "Adtec has developed an enterprise middleware solution for managing Amino IP set tops using the Adtec digital headend, including the edje-2100 Real Time encoders and the DTA Digital Turn Around Media Routers."
Adtec's commercial insertion solutions include digital-into-analog (DIA), digital-into-digital (DID) and digital-into-transport (DIT) or splicing.
DIT is a new technology, and Adtec Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Andre Ancelin, helped author the SCTE 30 and SCTE 35 standards, defining the splicing of transport streams.
The Duet MPEG 2 Commercial Inserter offers scalable architecture, allowing users to add channels as needed, and an agile internal baseband demodulator, reducing or eliminating the need for external interfaces. The Duet inserts digital-into-analog or optionally digital-into-digital (Duet-SDI).
The single-rack DPI-1200 Transport Stream Ad Server simultaneously inserts up to twelve programs into a digital television service. The DPI-1200 interfaces with Terayon's CherryPicker DM-3200 Ad Splicer.
Adtec's Traffic and Billing Gateway Server (TBGS) and software applications allow the Duet and DPI-1200 to integrate seamlessly into existing analog and digital ad insertion systems.
"The two-fold value of the TBGS is its ability to facilitate easy distribution and management of commercial content via a Wide Area Network and to unite with the DPI-1200 Transport Stream Ad Server into any system, facilitating deployment of DIT," Pierce said.
Adtec Digital designs and manufactures innovative technology for digital television delivery, IP streaming, commercial insertion, and multimedia digital video applications.
