From AV Video Multimedia Producer, September 2002
Earlier this year, Artbeats decided to streamline the way in which it delivers images to its traveling video walls: The company purchased 10 MPEG-2 "edje" video players from Adtec Digital (www.adtecinc.com). According to Bates, thte edjes' size and ease of use are two top benefits: each device measures only four inches wide, eight inches long and 1.75 inches deep. Although the edjes send Artbeats' footage to video walls, the players can delivery to LCD projectors and other devices. They can also delivery video and grahics without the aid of a PC. Especially important for presentations, gorups of players can be synchronized over an Ethernet network and will play content in a loop or on a schedule. "The ease of use is great," says Bates. "We could send untrained people out with them if we wanted to." Edje player pricing starts at $1,395. -S.K. |
