NES Communication Services Depends on Adtec Digital mediaHUB-HD 422 Encoder for Primary Transmission

NASHVILLE, TN — NES Communication Services’ high definition contribution feeds are powered by Adtec Digital’s mediaHUB-HD 422 encoders. NES uses Adtec for primary transmission of sports, news and other live events over satellite and fiber to studios for broadcast on cable and network television.
As a mobile service provider, NES finds interoperability to be a key issue. Their equipment is used in a variety of environments that demand compatibility with the widest array of receive sites. They have successfully used Adtec encoders for over a year both domestically and internationally, without interoperability issues.
Another benefit is the Adtec user interface that allows engineers easy access to adjusting the encoder’s controls. This level of control allows NES to work with the downlink personnel to be sure they are receiving the feed in sync and free of any technical issues.
"Our field engineers have enjoyed working with Adtec Digital because they have been able to talk directly to the engineers about technical solutions and enhancements to the product line," said Keith Valeri, Vice President and General Manager for NES. "We have always been totally satisfied with Adtec’s equipment, service and support."
NES has just completed the build of a C-Band HD uplink featuring a 5.5M Off-Sat Antenna, 600W Hub Mounted SSPAs, and removable shock mounted racks featuring Adtec’s encoders. The removable solution allows for maximum flexibility because they are able to locate the compression equipment next to production in venues that don’t have the room to co-locate the uplink and production units. Adtec’s small one rack unit chassis along with the extreme dependability and zero latency issues that they have experienced over the past year were key factors in the design decisions.
Winner of the 2009 STAR Award for superior technology at NAB, the mediaHUB-HD 422 supports the most demanding MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 AVC contribution, distribution and studio encoding applications. It boasts the ability to encode any combination of HD and SD, MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 AVC with 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 color space. The mediaHUB-HD 422 supports past, present and future broadcast infrastructures.
Customers the world over look to NES Communication Services to provide high-quality, reliable video data communication services. From corporate video conferencing and webcasting to live surgical demonstrations, breaking news and sporting events, NES maintains the technology and know-how to deploy communication solutions that best meet the needs and budgets of clients.
