Adtec Digital enables Broadcasters DENG and Studio Multi-CODEC decoding with the New Soloist-HD Pro


NASHVILLE, TN
     Adtec Digital has announced the availability of the Soloist-HD Pro Multi-Codec decoder. It decodes broadcast quality High Definition (HD) MPEG 2 and AVC video and stereo audio. Multi-CODEC decoding has never been easier or more reliable.

     The Soloist-HD Pro supports ASI, GIGE and Hard Drive Single or Multiple Program Transport Stream (SPTS or MPTS) decoding. Video outputs include D1 (composite), HDMI with HDCP and HD-SDI with embedded audio. The Soloist-HD Pro is capable of decoding MPEG 2 SD 422, HD 420, AVC SD and HD video. Audio decoding includes a single stereo channel of Dolby Digital, Dolby 5.1, MPEG 1 Layer 2 and AAC-LC audio. The Soloist-HD Pro outputs broadcast quality video with embedded stereo audio on the HD-SDI interface and to consumer monitors with the HDMI interface. Composite D1 video and balanced analog audio are also supported for legacy NTSC and PAL environments. The decoder can down convert HD 1080i or 720 P to NTSC or PAL and up-convert from NTSC or PAL to 1080i or 720P.

     The Soloist-HD Pro is ideally suited for DENG (Digital Electronic News Gathering) contribution. Its ability to take a live MPEG 2 or AVC SD or HD service makes it ideally suited for hybrid environments. In the studio, the Soloist-HD Pro can decode a transport stream from its internal hard drive according to a playlist or schedule.
