Crawford Communications Selects Adtec Digital
For High Definition Contribution Solution

NASHVILLE, TN -- Crawford Communications in Atlanta, Georgia, selected Adtec Digital for their High Definition digital television contribution solution. The company wanted to increase the number of high definition events that the company could perform for both teleport and transportable uplinks from the satellite trucks. Adtec Digital’s mediaHUB™-HD Pro encoders and DTA™-3050 multiplexers provided the company with an elegant contribution solution.

      The mediaHUB™-HD Pro is a real-time contribution quality MPEG 2 High and Standard Definition encoder. It is designed to support the most demanding Contribution, ATSC, DVB and IPTV Distribution and Cable Labs compliant VOD and DPI studio encoding requirements. The auto-detect HD/SD SDI video input eliminates the need for user resolution and frame rate configuration. It boasts dual stream on-board audio encoding of Dolby Digital and MPEG 1 Layer 2 audio with Dolby E and Dolby 5.1 pass-through support. Standard Adtec features include three mirrored ASI outputs as well as a GIGE output, now supporting Pro Forward Error Correct (FEC) AES3 Digital Audio, SDI and Analog audio inputs and BISS 1/E encryption. User interfaces include an easy-to-use front panel interface and on-board web application server for configuration and monitoring. Unique features include a built-in confidence decoder with HDSDI, HDMI and D1 outputs and constant capture hard drive acquisition for studio, contribution and distribution applications.

      The DTA-3050™ multiplexer aggregates and processs MPEG, ATSC, Digicypher, or DVB based services for traditional (satellite, cable, terrestrial) or next generation IPTV based services. It boasts10 ASI inputs, each supporting wire speed, a three-way mirrored ASI output, GIGE, and optional SMPTE-310. Redundancy for ASI and SMPTE-310 is supported with an intelligent built in relay-bypassed switch. The DTA-3050™ is IPTV and BBTV ready today, it supports multicast and unicast configurations including SPTS/UDP or RTP, MPTS/UPD or RTP, MPEG and DVB tables. Encryption support includes DVB-CSA with Ethernet Simylcrypt, AES for use with Simylcrypt compatible Conditional Access management Servers (CAS) vendors.
