Lead Application Developer |

SUMMARY: The Lead Application Developer (LAD) will work as a member of the engineering team. The primary task is to design, develop and maintain a custom application server and browser-based user interface for the management of Adtec hardware within the enterprise. This includes the following disciplines: 1. Application Requirements and Specifications The LAD will work with the Product Manager to define application requirements based on market driven data. The requirements then will be documented into the application specification, which will drive development. The Director of Engineering and CTO will provide architectural guidance. 2. Application Development The LAD will work on specific task of coding and testing the applications per the specifications. This will occur with the direct support of the Product Manager, other internal and external developers, and support technicians. 3. Application Testing and Review The LAD will test code as it is developed and perform recursive testing as the development moves forward. A review of application work flow and usability will be performed in conjunction with the Product Manager, documenters, service personnel and Alpha/Beta users. The LAD will provide test plans for all new implemented features. 4. Application Use Documentation The LAD will provide application use guidance and raw instruction documents to the Product Manager and Adtecs documentation staff. 5. Team and Process Improvement Members of the engineering team are responsible for improving the department's effectiveness through teamwork and application of software development best practices. The Lead Application Developer will be responsible for working with other developers to accomplish projects and be responsible for oversight and guidance of junior colleagues. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BSCS or equivalent 1-3 years application development experience LAMP and browser platforms Excellent oral and writing skills Ability to multitask Excellent organizational skills Programming Languages and Techniques: C++ and Java Python, PHP, SQL AJAX, JSON Browser platforms (Firefox, IE6+, Safari) LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to create read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and engineering memos. The LAD must be able to design, layout and create written detailed technical manuals and application notes for end users, and test technicians, additional responsibilities include effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the company.
