Nashville, Tennessee (August 18, 2011) – Adtec Digital will introduce a new high definition DSNG/contribution encoder/modulator at IBC September 9-12, 2011 in Stand 1.D01. There will be a preview opportunity at the STR International booth at the 2011 BIRTV exhibit. Primary markets for the new EN-91includes DSNG, SD, HD and 3D contribution, distribution and fixed circuit trunking. “In the blink of a human eye you can now send contribution quality HD video around the globe using IP based networks, ASI Fiber, or DVBS/S2 satellite delivery,” states Kevin Ancelin, senior vice president of sales for Adtec Digital. The ultra-low delay EN-91 DSNG contribution encoder/modulator combines high-efficiency AVC 4:2:2 compression with lightning-fast processing for flexible delivery of video for time sensitive and bandwidth-limited applications. “Paired with Adtec’s RD-60 IRD, the EN-91 can deliver HD Video and sixteen channels of audio with an end-to-end latency under 100 milliseconds,” he adds. The EN-91 supports high definition and standard definition MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 video with 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 chroma sampling, boasting up to eight pairs of audio, TimeCode, Captions, Teletex, AFD and more as standard features. “Why choose JPEG?” asks Ancelin. “It is an indisputable fact that AVC 4:2:2 is far more efficient than JPEG based CODEC’s, regardless of your platform, DSNG Satellite, ASI Fiber or IP delivery. Adtec’s proven compression and decoding solutions are the choice for broadcast professionals globally.” The EN-91 audio pass-through support includes PCM, DolbyE (16 and 20 Bit), Dolby AC3 (2.0 and 5.1). It supports redundant AC power supplies, enhanced control and monitoring via front-panel, SNMP and browser; and allows concurrent encoding and streaming to IP, ASI and L-Band or IF DVBS/S2. The DVBS/S2 modulator modes support QPSK up to 32APSK based on software licenses. The EN-91, AVC 4:2:2 and RD-60 receiver can deliver HD-SDI with end-to-end delays of only 100 milliseconds with no dedicated fiber link needed like Motion JPEG. Both the EN-91 and RD-60 are fully interoperable with leading third-party receivers and encoders. Standards included are redundant power supplies, SNMP control and monitoring, an intuitive web control interface, and a push-button front panel interface. Adtec Digital International Sales Representative, Joanna Ching, will host a post-show private demo of the EN-91 at BIRTV on Monday, August 29, 2011, by invitation only.
