LOS ANGELES – Encompass Digital Media, Inc., a leading digital media services provider, partnered with Adtec Digital for ABC’s broadcast of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials and surrounding festivities during April 2011. Encompass worked closely with Adtec and ABC to distribute this historic footage throughout the United Kingdom and United States. Encompass’ operations in London and Minneapolis, MN provided vital support for transcontinental video transport via fiber and satellite to millions of viewers.
Encompass paired its portable, 2.4M flyaway system with 25 Adtec mediaHub-Pro encoders, 20 RD-60 IRDs and 10 of Adtec’s 10-channel capable mux to perform the complex requirements of this large-scale production. This led to the installation and operation of several transmission sites that included ABC’s London Bureau, Methodist Central Hall Westminster and Canada Gate which is situated just outside Buckingham Palace.
